2024-06-28
DETROIT, MI. – IonDynamics Energy, a Michigan based leader in innovative energy mobility technology, is pleased to announce a new partnership with NextEnergy and The Detroit Smart Parking Lab (DSPL). One of four companies selected to participate in the DSPL’s Autonomous Movement Initiative, IonDynamics will introduce its “FlashBot” autonomous driving energy storage and charging robot. The Autonomous Movement Initiative is a themed round of grant funding supported by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and is focused on showcasing the latest in autonomous and electrification technology from Michigan based firms.
“IonDynamics Energy is honored to be selected to participate in this important initiative, and introduce FlashBot, the world’s first level 4 autonomous driving energy storage and charging robot,” said Josh Bitterman, head of business development for IonDynamics. “The Detroit Smart Parking Lab, in coordination with the MEDC, is helping lead the way for our beloved city of Detroit being a hub for innovation that will help deliver the future of energy and mobility technology.”
Beginning in June, four companies will participate in a six month showcase of their autonomous technology. Companies under consideration and ultimately selected for the initiative were required to be based in Michigan, and with plans to expand their operation in the state. The DSPL and its Autonomous Movement Initiative were helped to be made possible by grant funding support from the MEDC’s Office of Future Mobility & Electrification.
“The DSPL and its operators, NextEnergy and ParkRite Parking, are excited to showcase IonDynamics innovative EV charging technology. Solutions like the FlashBot can accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles and automated movement within parking applications while increasing the resiliency of our electric grid” said Jim Saber, CEO of NextEnergy.
